A cat with cancer whose abdomen was the size of a basket ball. The owner did not want to be present so I stuck him in a cage with a bowl of extra rich wet food which he licked at gently before putting him down.
Another old cat whose body was shutting down.

2) a 17 y.o. cat - skin & bones, matted, temp didn't register on thermometer - couldn't walk.

We all have stories like this. The mercy killings, the ones that don't protest (owners and animal alike), the tragedy. I have been 'killing things' humanely since 1996. Thank you for the link to catharsis.
