This is the second time I've had to post something like this. We put our own dog to sleep today. She was diagnosed with lymphoma over a year ago and managed to put up an amazing fight. Over the past week she suddenly declined very quickly and yesterday we decided it was time.

She was an amazing dog, everyone who met her loved her. She touched so many people who thereby touched us in unimaginable ways. At one point several years ago she became very ill and friends from the internet, many of whom we'd never even met, all chipped in to cover the multiple thousands of dollars in vet bills.

We adopted her as an adult. She had spent the first few years of her life as an over used breeder in a puppy mill. Her body was broken but her spirit was not. Her trust of humans was amazing considering all she had gone through.

Rest in peace, sweet Poppy. Thank you for the time you gave to us.

We lost our dog two years ago. She was so awesome. It was really rough seeing her go, but sometimes I still hear her tags on her collar chiming.

Sometimes I think animals are more human-like than humans are.

My condolences.
I recently watched "The Future" (with Miranda July), which was not a very good movie, except for the cat dialog laced in as a subplot, the last bit of which was very moving.
I still miss my Malamute, Luke, 25 years later, and remember what a good friend he was.

Your blog is probably of the most emotionally moving thing I have read. This last post and the previous ones were certainly the most moving. They made me stop and think for at least an hour. I am sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing.

I, too , have had to euthanise my own. I am sincerely sorry because I can painfully recall the way I felt doing the same... but there comes a blessed relief with it, as well.

I'm a CVT and would like to ask if you would be willing to allow me to post some of mine. I do not want to steal your blog idea, but rather participate in it as well.

It's rather cathartic for me to share these sad cases with my friends & family, but they seem to not understand.
